Tools to prevent data loss
Data loss refers to unexpected loss of data or information and therefore backup and recovery of data must be developed to restore the lost data.
Here I am including some of the best tools to prevent data loss :
Security platform: BorderWare security platform removes the need for deploying a new device to protect against new messaging applications by integrating email, IM , web security with a single policy and single security system. It is actually a monitoring and filtering tool which prevents data leakage.
Check Point Software: Pointsec data encryption solutions by check point provide data protection on laptops, PCs, mobile device, and removable media. By leveraging a strong and efficient blend of full disk encryption, access control, port management, removable media encryption , it delivers a comprehensive data security.
Cross Road Systems – DBProtector : it provides database security at a logical business policy level and stops “authorized misuse” of database information. DBProtector provides policy-based intrusion detection, prevention, and compliance auditing.
Device Wall : it prevents the transfer of files to or from unauthorized portable devices. It also automatically encrypts data copied to approved devices. Moreover it also provide complete audits trails of device and file access.
Exeros Discovery: Exeros discovery software automates discovery and maintenance of business rules, transformations, hidden sensitive data, and data inconsistencies across structured data sources. It uses a unique technology of data driven mapping to replace the traditional manual process of analyzing source data and mapping it to another dataset.
Procurve Identity Driven manager : Procurve Identity Driven Manager configures security and performance settings based on system, user, device, location, time, client system state. It enables us to to be able to centrally define and apply policy-based network access rights that allow network to automatically adapt to needs of users and devices as they connect.
Event Tracker: being my favorite event tracker is solution that features real time collection of all logs, secure, tamper-proof and encrypted log storage, and real tie slog analysis, and reporting as well.
Verdasys’ Digital Guardian is a data security solution for protecting and tracking the flow of critical data. Digital Guardian logs user data transactions and applies predefined rules to ensure that end users are using applications and data properly.
Websense Content protection suite: This package is a comprehensive solution to address the growing need for robust information leak prevention. It provides superior protection to secure and manage , who, what, how and where.
Elcomsoft Distributed Password recovery: Elcomsoft password recovery is a password recovery tool , as it suggests from its name ;) . It is used to crack complex passwords, recover strong encryption keys, and unlock ducuments in a protected environment. It is a high end solution for forensic and government agencies, data recovery, and password recovery services.

Check whether you are ADMIN or NOT with RAILGUN script
When you first step on a machine, you want to determine quickly if you are just a user or an administrator. Meterpreter doesn’t have a way to quickly check this. You could get into a shell, check the local users group “Adminitrators”, and check your user, and correlate any groups that are shared between the outputs. You could do ‘getsystem’ and if one works other than Kitrap0d. You could also just do a ‘ps’ and notice that you can see ‘SYSTEM’ processes.
But, I wanted to make a way that check a bunch of sessions all at once. So I wrote “AmIAdmin.rb” which uses meterpreter’s railgun extension to execute “IsUserAdmin”.
Being that Shell32.dll isn’t included in railgun by default we have to add it. After writing it I decided to add some checks. These checks make sure that each piece of the script isn’t already loaded. It’s a good reference for doing this in the future.
(you can remove the print_status lines if you want the script to be quieter)
Here is the source for script.
Any questions or doubts, you are welcomed. :)

List of Websites giving tools for DNS queries.
- Here i m giving a list of such free website services which provide tools for DNS troubleshooting:
- www.DNSreport.com (http://www.dnsreport.com)
- This site will check the DNS settings for an Internet zone and provide prescriptive guidance on optimizing the settings.
- www.DNSstuff.com (http://www.dnsstuff.com)
- This site has a number of DNS tools that you can use to diagnose DNS issues.
- SamSpade.org (http://www.samspade.org)
- This site has some good tools for DNS troubleshooting. It promotes its tools and expertise as anti-spam utilities, as opposed to just DNS troubleshooting. The site's tools page (http://www.samspade.org/t/) provides tools similar to those at www.DNSstuff.com. I have the Sam Spade For Windows tool (http://www.samspade.org/ssw/) on my desktop and use it a great deal.
- AnalogX DNSDig (http://www.analogx.com/contents/dnsdig.htm)
- This page provides an online version of DIG—a useful tool from the Unix world that is used to troubleshoot DNS issues. (Why can't Microsoft provide a port of DIG in Windows or the resource kit?)
- Squish.net DNS Checker (http://www.squish.net/dnscheck)
- Given a record name and a record type, this page will return a report that details all possible answers.
- DNS Dump (http://www.reskit.net/DNS/dnsdump.cm_)
- This is a truly awesome script by Dean Wells that exports/imports DNS server configurations. Read carefully before using it, and make sure you change the extension before you run it! This was the list of sites giving informations and troubleshooting tools for dns, and how to actually troubleshoot with the eris discussed in our next post, http://www.hackplanet.in/2011/04/troubleshooting-dns.html

Complete List Of mIRC commands
If you would like to keep a particularly interesting chat that has scrolled by but is still in your buffer there is a way to save it! Type "ALT -" (alt minus) to enter the system menu under the top left little icon thingy above every channel or private conversation. In this menu select the Buffer/Save As/ entry and save your buffer to a file. Succes!
The LOCK feature in mIRC allows you to minimize mIRC and lock it with a password for strange eyes. If you control-minimize mIRC (keep the Ctrl-key pressed down while minimizing mIRC), it will be locked with your password. If no password was set previously mIRC will ask you for one. Later when you want to maximize mIRC you need your password to activate it. An extention of this feature in the /File/Options/General/Lock/ menu can be used to lock mIRC or certain channels for your children!
Shift+Mouse on Switchbar Did you know that you can 'fast-close' a window in mIRC by clicking its button on the Switchbar while holding the SHIFT key pressed down??
/uwho Ever wondered who you're actually speaking with? The /whois {nick} command shows you a lot of cryptic info in the Status window but the /uwho {nick} command will open a clear and informative User Central. Give it a try! You can also store address info of your friends in the User Central for future reference.
ALT + Minus Press the key combination ALT and 'minus' simultaneous to access the windows' System Menu's (found under that little horizontal bar in every top left corner of ANY window in mIRC and windows). Here you can set the fonts you like, the logging options, save the buffer and set various other things for private and channel conversations.
/clear Use the /clear command to flush away all old text you dont want to read again. /clearall clears all text in all windows!
Remember that old doskey feature under DOS? mIRC has it too! Use the arrow up/down keys, eventually combined with SHIFT, to recall old commands and text lines.
/channel The /channel command will open the Channel Central that displays all modes and bans set on your current channel.
/pdcc Use the undocumented /pdcc [on|off] command to speed up your DCC sessions! It will pump a certain amount of your data packages away to the reciever, ahead of the confirmation of their arrival. Try it, it works .

The max file size is currently 2 MB. You don’t have to do any pre-processing to your images except for making sure it is not skewed right or left. If it is, go ahead and deskew it before uploading.

Also, if there is more than one column in your image, it will convert it all to one column. However, they are creating a layout engine that will recognize more complex documents in the future.
The recommended DPI for the images is 150, but if you have a file that is a lower DPI, go ahead and try it anyway to see if it works.
The only major limitation right now is that it can convert only the first page of a PDF document and that’s it! So if you have more than one page, you’ll only get the first page. In the future, you will be able to process up to 10 pages.
The cool feature, though, is that it also support six languages including German, French, Italian, Dutch and Spanish.
Overall, the OCR results were very good on cleanly printed PDF and image files. Obviously, if I tried a lower resolution scanned document, it didn’t catch everything, but still the results were impressive for a free online service!
Give it a shot and see how it works for you. Overall, it’s a really useful tool if you ever need a free online OCR service for something simple.
Enjoy hacking , Enjoy Hackplanet.
Of course, you could always purchase OCR software, but here at OTT, we always try to find ways to do everything for free! That’s where a free online OCR service comes in handy.

Hacking Tool Or Software used For Sniffing : Hacking Tools
Although it's nice to use a tool such as Ethereal (Which is having monopoly in Sniffing), other sniffing tools are available n seriously i do suggest u to go for these raher than ethereal. they are Easy to use and having a very handy user interface. Packetyzer and Etherpeek are general sniffing tools, although others such as Dsniff allow the attacker to focus on one specific type of traffic. A few of these tools are highlighted here:
-
Packetyzer Provides a Windows user interface for Ethereal. Available free from www.networkchemistry.com/products/packetyzer.php. -
Etherpeek A commercial sniffer that offers a GUI interface and is used on the Windows platform. It is available at www.etherpeek.com. -
Dsniff Part of a collection of tools for network auditing and hacking. Includes dsniff, filesnarf, mailsnarf, msgsnarf, urlsnarf, and webspy. These tools allow the attacker to passively monitor a network for interesting data such as passwords, email, files, and web traffic. The Windows port is available at www.datanerds.net/~mike/dsniff.html. -
TCPdump One of the most used network sniffer/analyzers for Linux. TCPdump is a command-line tool that is great for displaying header information. TCPdump is available at www.tcpdump.org. -
Windump A porting to the Windows platform of tcpdump, the most used network sniffer/analyzer for UNIX. This tool is similar to TCPdump in that it is a command-line tool that easily displays packet header information. It's available at www.winpcap.org/windump.

Install 107 Freeware Applications From 1 Software Installer
Feeling sick and tired of searching for software applications on the Internet? ZeuApp is a free and portable multiple applications installer that allows you to install various freeware and open-source applications directly from one interface.
In the latest version 1.4, ZeuApp contains a list of 107 freeware applications for you to choose from and they put under 12 different categories. In the main interface, you can navigate to various application categories like audio, video, office, security, CD burners and more.
Under each tab, you will find a list of applications for that category with a brief description and version number about the application. You will find a “Download” button which allow you to download and install the application. Meanwhile the “Visit Website” button will take you to the official web page of the application for more info.
Okay now, let’s try to install an application. I’ve picked the VLC media player for demo.
Now, clicking on the download button will load a new form. Click the Download button and you will be prompt to specify the directory to store the application installer. After that, the download process will begin automatically.
Installer will start straight after the download process has completed.
ZeuApp is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and 7.
