The Hunger and The Thirst
Do you like this story?
So here we go ..
I walked blindly, the need to have and to hold
Somebody, in love, growing inside me.
Huddled against the intense cold,
I wished as i had never wished before
To be given an answer:
Why did He give me?
The heart of a fool with a king’s purse
I ought to not have been; and if at all, then
Let the heart be a corpse and my body be the hearse.
Oh! If i could be anything else but me
Ay, to be me is indeed a blessed curse.
Feeling tired i closed my eyes for a while,
Till a soft rustling woke me,
I saw her looking at me with a practiced smile,
Returning my stare with mutual interest,
She spoke, “do me a turn, sir, since you are the first
I’ve had today”.
“How could you do this?” i asked in disgust.
She was quiet for a moment,
“Morals are for the contented, sir,
They neither appease the hunger nor slake the thirst”
“Have you ever seen a body that’s been pushed to the brink?
Why Cap’n, nothing else matters then except food and drink.”
If not you, somebody else must need comfort, for I have a son
Who needs food, not morals?
“No! Take back your purse”
It’s not your concern. You’re young, go and have some fun,
I’ll trust myself to YOUR GOD , IF There Is a One.
